Barbadian economist and investment promotion leader Kaye Greenidge has been confirmed as President of the Caribbean Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (CAIPA) for the period 2026-2027, following her appointment by the CAIPA General Assembly on 27 February 2026.

CAIPA Presidency Announcement

The CAIPA General Assembly has confirmed Kaye Greenidge as President of CAIPA for the 2026-2027 term, following her service as Acting President since 2025. Greenidge, who serves as Chief Executive Officer of Invest Barbados, assumes the substantive role with immediate effect after a special confirmation process conducted by CAIPA Members.

An economist by training, Greenidge brings to the Presidency more than two decades of experience spanning senior roles in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs in Barbados, commercial banking, and her current leadership of Invest Barbados, the national investment promotion agency.  Her background in structuring financial and investment solutions and leading major asset portfolios positions her to guide CAIPA’s regional investment promotion efforts over the next two years.

Continuity of the CAIPA Board

The General Assembly also confirmed that the existing CAIPA Board will continue to serve for the 2026-2027 period in support of the President. The Board comprises:

  • Stanley Jacobs, Acting Director of the St. Kitts Investment Promotion Agency, representing St. Kitts and Nevis. Mr. Jacobs assumes the role of Vice President of CAIPA.
  • Sekou Alleyne, CEO of GlobalTT, representing Trinidad and Tobago - CAIPA Director 1
  • Ishmael Quiroz, Executive Director, BELTRAIDE, Belize’s trade and investment promotion agency, representing Belize – CAIPA Director 2.
  • Miles Mercera, Chief Executive Officer, Curaçao Investment & Export Promotion Agency (CINEX), representing Curaçao - CAIPA Director 3.
  • Ronald Theodore, Chief Executive Officer, Grenada Investment Development Corporation (GIDC), representing Grenada - CAIPA ex-officio member.

Together, the Board members will support CAIPA’s strategic agenda to strengthen the Caribbean’s collective investment proposition in traditional and emerging sectors.

Vision for a New Era of Collaboration

In accepting her appointment, Greenidge underscored the importance of CAIPA’s coordinating role across the region’s investment promotion agencies.

“CAIPA plays a critical role in coordinating the efforts of the Caribbean IPAs in promoting our region to investors. This unified position sends a strong signal to investors who see our combined value proposition and are interested in establishing a presence not only in one territory but having a regional footprint throughout the region. In CAIPA we have learned that working together works. And it works for all of us.”

Looking ahead, she signaled an ambitious agenda that places priority on the digital economy, the blue economy, logistics and agritech as strategic pillars of CAIPA’s work.

“I am eager to herald a new age for CAIPA - one in which we double down on opportunities in the digital space through our work with CANTO, lean into the blue economy that makes up most of our territory, and position renewable energy, logistics and agritech as priority sectors we strategically and consistently target.  Thanks to partners like UNCTAD, Paul Wessendorp (Senior Investment Advisor) and the IDB who stayed with us through the teething pains, and to our Members who remained committed despite the challenges.”
